For this video breakdown, I’m specifically looking at the Jigging RapvsRippin’ RapvsSlab Rap. All 3 of these hardbaits do a killer job of pulling walleyes thru the ice, but knowing which to tie on when will for sure help you to catch even more/bigger fish.
Which I grab first depends on numerous specific factors: The time of year, time of day, water clarity, fishing pressure, and the overall mood of the fish on your electronics.

Also just saw that Canadian wonder woman and multi-species Ashley Rae will be doing a meet-and-greet in the Striker booth from 1-3pm on Sat:
> The Sept survey tallied an avg of 21.1 walleyes and 17.5 saugers per net, both of which are above the historic average of 15.3 for walleyes and 15.2 for saugers.
> In 2022, the survey yielded 12.8 walleyes and 16 saugers per net.
There’s a big crop of youngsters coming up:
> “The increase in walleye numbers…largely results from strong catch rates of 0- to 2-yr-old walleyes hatched between 2021 and 2023. The oldest of those fish are now 11-13” long…while walleyes from the 2023 yr-class are 7-8” long.”

They had nearly 12,000 people fishing last year (for roughly $275K in prizes) and it was 13-yr-old Zac Padrnos who took home the top honors with a huuuuge 9.45-lb walleye!!! Won himself a new truck!
And in case you didn’t know, over the Extravaganza’s 33-yr history, more than $4.3 mil has been raised and donated to more than 75 different charities. Incredible.
